Issue Date Aug 2003
Replaces TR-EOP-000316 Issue01
ORDERING INFORMATION
ABSTRACT: GR-316 replaces TR-EOP-000316, Issue 1, December 1986, but contains NO TECHNICAL CHANGES from that original document. It has been
issued strictly to conform with the new Telcordia Technologies document format and GR process, and carries a new issue number and date.
This GR identifies the Telcordia view of generic requirements for repair vendors to effectively interface with the Network Plug-In
Administration Center (NPIAC) of the Local Exchange Carriers (LECs). The document specifies requirements for servicing defective
plug-in units classified as Central Office Equipment (COE) and includes two types of vendor offerings: (1) repair and return, and (2)
vendor/LEC like-for-like exchange. The document assumes that the Network Plug-In Administrator (NPIA) will use the Plug-In Inventory
Control System/Detail Continuing Property Record (PICS/DCPR) system to administer both types of offerings. Requirements for identifying
warranty-related information are also described in this document.
