ABSTRACT:
Wrist straps are worn by persons who handle or perform maintenance on circuit packs, electronic assemblies, and systems that are sensitive to Electrostatic Discharge (ESD). Frequent routine testing of wrist straps is required to ensure continued acceptable performance of the straps to avoid damage from ESD.

GR-1418 provides the Telcordia view of minimum generic requirements for wrist strap testing devices that can quickly provide pass or fail information to verify the functionality of a wrist strap while it is being worn.
