ABSTRACT: This document provides the view of Telcordia on generic requirements for coaxial drop passive elements, specifically: Power Splitters, Directional Couplers and Taps, 75 Ohm to 600 Ohm Matching Transformers, Attenuators, and Terminations. It is important that each passive element meet the generic requirements in this document over a frequency band of 5 to 1000 Mhz. All elements listed above are for outdoor use and, as such, must withstand wide variations in climatic conditions including precipitation and ice, sand and dust contamination, airborne and household chemicals, and temperatures ranging from -40 degrees F to + 150 degrees F.
