ORDERING INFORMATION
ABSTRACT: This document outlines the view of Telcordia on generic requirements for addressable taps used in the coaxial distribution network to
direct signals to the subscriber coaxial drop. These elements contain Radio Frequency (RF) switches that, under computer control, can
activate or deactivate services to the addressed subscriber interface. In the coaxial distribution for video and telephony, services
will be delivered to the Network Interface Device (NID). The NID serves as a receiver, divider, and demodulator for the video and
telecommunications signals, respectively.
