ABSTRACT: This Generic Requirements (GR) document describes the Telcordia view of unbundled intraLATA (Local Access and Transport Area) services offered by Incumbent Local Exchange Carriers (ILECs) to Competitive Local Exchange Carriers (CLECs) serving the same LATA. The unbundled intraLATA services are provided to CLECs for the purpose of enabling the CLECs to offer their own competitive local exchange services.

The purposes of this GR are to describe unbundled intraLATA services so CLECs and telecommunications service end-users will understand the service offerings, and to provide transmission performance and interface guidelines for ILEC engineers and service and network planners.

This GR covers transmission requirements, service features, and specifications for valid network interfaces.
