ABSTRACT: This document contains the view of Telcordia on generic requirements for a Stored Program Control switching System (SPCS) database and Database Management System (DBMS). Specifically, the following Functionalities are discussed:

• Capabilities and requirements necessary for a DBMS to process the various types of data contained in an SPCS database.
• Backup and recovery procedures for a database.
• Database integrity and security measures.
