ORDERING INFORMATION
ABSTRACT: As part of the opening of the intraLATA (Local Access and Transport Area) toll market to competition, end users should be allowed to
have their ISDN (Integrated Services Digital Network) interface provisioned with an IntraLATA toll carrier of their choice.
This carrier is used to route IntraLATA toll calls when a carrier is not signaled by the user. At this time, only circuit mode
calls are addressed. For the circuit mode calls, end users should be allowed to have their ISDN interface provisioned with a PIC2 or
LPIC. PIC2 is the numeric Carrier Identification Code (CIC) of the carrier designated by the customer.
This document presents the view of Telcordia on generic requirements for the identification of an IntraLATA Carrier over an ISDN
access interface. For ISDN BRIs (Basic Rate Interfaces), the document provides for the identification of an IntraLATA Carrier via
several means including presubscription on a Directory Number (DN) and Call Type (CT) basis as well as dynamically via D-Channel
signaling for the circuit mode bearer capabilities. For ISDN PRIs (Primary Rate Interfaces), the document provides for the
identification of an IntraLATA Carrier via several means including presubscription on a Bearer Capability basis as well as dynamically
via D-Channel signaling for the circuit mode bearer capabilities.
