ABSTRACT: This document defines the view of Telcordia on generic requirements for the Hold Capability over an Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN) Primary Rate Interface (PRI). The Hold Capability allows an ISDN PRI user to place an established circuit mode call on hold and make the B-Channel on the PRI interface available for another call. The user can retrieve the held call or initiate call clearing after the call is placed on hold.

This feature is intended to be used as a common function for other ISDN PRI features such as Multi-B-Channel Conferencing.
