ORDERING INFORMATION
ABSTRACT: This document provides the view of Telcordia on proposed generic requirements for a Stored Program Control switching System (SPCS) to
support common user-side procedures on an Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN) Primary Rate Interface (PRI).
This document contains generic requirements for ISDN PRI user-side procedures and capabilities that are viewed as generic or common
for applications where the SPCS operates as the user-side of the interface. The procedures in this document are intended to be used in
conjunction with services and features that use these common user-side procedures. Applications where an SPCS operates as the
user-side of an ISDN PRI include Business Group Access to IEC Services Using National ISDN PRI (defined in GR-2987) and ISDN PRI
Interconnection for Business Group-to-Business Group Networking (defined in GR-2986). The procedures in this document are not
intended to be provided independently from a user-side application, as certain functionality is assumed to reside in the user-side
application (e.g., procedures to access the user-side Primary Rate Interface). The scope of this document is limited to the following
ISDN PRI user-side procedures and capabilities: Physical Layer, Link Layer, Call Control Switching and Signaling, D-Channel Back-up,
B-Channel Availability, Common Element Procedures, and Select Features and Services.
