ORDERING INFORMATION
ABSTRACT: GR-3107 specifies the technical generic requirements for Line Information Database (LIDB) to support the Calling Name Presentation
(CNAP) service that is offered by a wireless service provider to display a caller's name on the wireless customer's handset. The
wireless service provider's network sends a query message (ServiceRequest INVOKE) to the LIDB containing the calling party's telephone
number, and LIDB returns the name associated with the calling number in the response (ServiceRequest RETURN RESULT). When supported,
the wireless service provider's network may also send the telephone number of the redirecting party in the same query message if the
call was redirected before reaching the wireless customer. In such a case, LIDB may also return the name associated with the
redirecting party. This capability is referred to as Redirecting Name Delivery (RND).
This new Telcordia GR document details the specific requirements for LIDB to process ServiceRequest messages.
When using GR-3107, you may need to refer to GR-246. You may also need to refer to GR-1100, GR-1158, and/or
TIA/EIA-41.
