ORDERING INFORMATION
ABSTRACT: As Fiber-To-The-Premises (FTTP) is introduced to more and more customers in a diverse network, the need has arisen for new products to
support the FTTP rollout and services.
Telcordia is actively working with the industry to provide generic requirements for network elements that are critical to the
success of FTTP deployments. GR-3126, Generic Requirements for Wall Plates, Moldings, and Raceways that Support Fiber Optic Services
(Including Fiber to the Premises [FTTP]), is another important addition to the Telcordia collection of FTTP implementation
requirements.
GR-3126 provides mechanical, environmental, and optical performance requirements for wall plates, moldings, and raceways used in
FTTP deployments. This document allows the industry to have a clear set of requirements that will reduce costs and provide long-lasting
reliable products to support FTTP deployment. GR-3126 also provides a set of criteria for suppliers to use as a guide for product
development to better understand the needs of the service provider. Lastly, GR-3126 provides a set of criteria for service providers
that will describe thier product needs and that can be used in product evaluations and in the RFQ, RFI, and RFP processes.
GR-3126 provides the only set of requirements for wall plates, moldings, and raceways that are needed to support FTTP deployment in
residential and commercial buildings.
