ORDERING INFORMATION
ABSTRACT: GR-506 provides criteria for the direct current (dc) signals and basic alternating current (ac) signals that a Stored Program Control
System (SPCS) applies to analog interfaces. This document only provides criteria for the basic analog interface signals.
Issue 3 reflects vendor input and the latest additions to the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF)/ Internet Assigned Numbers
Authority (IANA) Registry. Additionally, Issue 3 contains the following:
- Requirements for exchanging trunk-side digitally encoded analog signals between Next Generation Network (NGN) systems that
handle media, such as:
- Session Information Tones
- Coin Control Signals
- Ringback
- DTMF Signals
- Coin Deposit Tones
- Describes an NGN architecture based on ATIS standards.
This document replaces TR-NWT-000506.
Issue 3 of GR-506, Signaling for Analog Interfaces, replaces Issue 2.
