ORDERING INFORMATION
ABSTRACT: GR-532 replaces TR-TSY-000532, Issue 2, but contains NO TECHNICAL CHANGES from that original document. It has been issued strictly to
conform to the new Telcordia Technologies document format and GR process, and carries a new issue number and date.
This Generic Requirements document (GR) provides feature requirements that include Service Codes N11, Interface to Directory
Assistance System, Interface to Intercept System, and Remote Switching Units.
The service codes feature provides simplified dialing to complete calls to frequently called service facilities. Service codes are
of the form N11, where N denotes any decimal digit 2 through 9.
A Directory Assistance (DA) operator system provides telephone users with directory number information. The 3-digit service code 411
is reserved for access to local DA numbers and may be used at the option of the telephone company for Home Numbering Plan Area (HNPA)
DA number access as well. The 7-digit code 555-1212 may also be used for HNPA DA numbers. This document describes the switching system
interface to DA systems.
The Interface to Intercept System allows local offices to be able to route calls to non-working telephone numbers or calls to
telephone numbers placed on trouble intercept to an intercept system where they are connected to announcements and/or operators. This
document describes the switching system interface to intercept systems.
The Remote Switching Unit (RSU) provides a switching network, line, and possibly trunk interfaces, and the capability to perform
call processing when isolated from the host. This document states requirements for three modes of RSU operation:
- Normal
- total Stand-Alone (SA)
- Partial Stand-Alone (PSA)
