The Voice/Data Protection (VDP) feature provides protection to business group lines from interruptions of the transmission path. These interruptions may be caused by other features assigned to that line or by other lines within the same business group. Two examples of features that may cause interruptions are Call Waiting (CW) and Dial Call Waiting (DCW). For CW, the interruption is due to a feature assigned to the line receiving a call, and for DCW the interruption is due to a feature assigned to the line making the call and applied to the line receiving the call. This GR provides the view of Telcordia on generic requirements for the VDP feature.
