ABSTRACT: GR-579 replaces TR-TSY-000579, Issue 1, but contains NO TECHNICAL CHANGES from that original document. It has been issued strictly to
conform with the new Telcordia Technologies document format and GR process, and carries a new issue number and date.
Multiway Calling (MWC) features provide the user with capabilities to handle more than one call at a time on a given line. Features
included in MWC allow the user to do the following:
- Hold a call and originate an additional call (e.g., Call Hold [CHD])
- Form a three-way conference (e.g., Three-Way Calling [TWC])
- Redirect a call to another line (Call Transfer [CT])
- Create a larger conference [Conference Calling]
- Six-Way Station Controlled (SWC)]
This Generic Requirements document (GR) describes the view of Telcordia on MWC features. Specifically, it provides requirements for
Call Hold (CHD), Call Transfer (CT), and Conference Calling - Six-Way Station Controlled (SWC). Three-Way Calling is described in
another Telcordia document.
