ORDERING INFORMATION
ABSTRACT: GR-580 replaces TR-TSY-000580, Issue 1, but contains NO TECHNICAL CHANGES from that original document. It has been issued strictly to
conform with the new Telcordia Technologies document format and GR process, and carries a new issue number and date.
Call Forwarding Variable (CFV) provides the capability for the subscriber to redirect calls intended for the subscriber's line (the
base station) to another line (the remote station). The subscriber controls CFV via an activation and deactivation procedure. The
activation procedure includes the capability to specify the Directory Number (DN) of the remote station, and requires a courtesy call.
If the courtesy call is not answered, the subscriber is provided with an alternate means of activating CFV. To deactivate call
forwarding, the subscriber goes off-hook, receives dial-tone, and dials a deactivation code; a confirmation tone is then returned to
the customer. This Generic Requirements document (GR) describes the view of Telcordia on generic requirements for the CFV feature.
