Message Detail Recording (MDR) is a switching system feature that provides a customer with detailed information about the customer's
use of telecommunications facilities and features. This GR describes the view of Telcordia on the arrangements that may be used by a
Local Exchange Carrier (LEC) to offer a business customer economical and dependable telecommunication access to ports on LEC local
switches that will provide Message Detail Recording (MDR) data. The description is in terms of selecting ITU-T X.25 features and
parameters appropriate to a LEC packet network and the MDR service capability. The generic requirements apply to local exchanges and to
the packet network access interfaces to the customer and to the local exchange.
