ORDERING INFORMATION
ABSTRACT: GR-679 replaces TR-TSY-000679, Issue 1, but contains NO TECHNICAL CHANGES from that original document. It has been issued strictly to
conform with the new Telcordia Technologies document format and GR process, and carries a new issue number and date.
In many applications, switched and nonswitched circuits are mixed on the same T-carrier facilities. When these facilities terminate
directly on a Local Digital Switch (LDS), various measures must be taken to separate the traffic. A nail-up feature provides an option
by which a private line special service or interoffice trunk uses a dedicated path through a switching machine from one transmission
facility to another and is not subjected to normal call-processing functions. The path through the switching machine may be a more
economical or convenient alternative than making the required trunk-to-trunk, trunk-to-line, or line-to-line connections by equipment
external to the switch. This GR describes the view of Telcordia on generic requirements for a minimum feature set for nail-up.
GR-679 replaced TR-TSY-000679 and TR-TSY-000360.
