Customers in Equal Access End Offices (EAEOs) are generally presubscribed to one InterLATA (Local Access and Transport Area) Carrier (IC) or an International Carrier (INC). InterLATA calls from these customers are automatically routed to their presubscribed carrier unless the customer specifies a different carrier by dialing a 10XXX prefix. Certain calls, however, must carry the 10XXX prefix even though they are to be routed via the customer's presubscribed carrier. These include intraLATA calls and cut-through (10XXX+#). This Generic Requirements document (GR) describes the view of Telcordia on generic requirements for the Presubscription Indication feature, which provides for the transmission of an indication to an IC/INC of whether or not the calling station is presubscribed to that carrier.
