Many InterLATA Carriers (ICs) offer business customers new types of service intended to replace private network offerings. These services are designed to provide cost savings to customers while offering a simulated, dedicated network facility and improved network efficiencies for both network providers and users. Integrated Multiple Access Switched Services (IMASS) is a Local Exchange Carrier (LEC) service offered to ICs for providing access from customers that have subscribed to an IC's virtual private network service. This Generic Requirements document (GR) describes the view of Telcordia on generic requirements for the LEC's switch to provide that access service.
