Point-to-Point (PTP) usage data should be collected primarily (but not exclusively) on end office-to-tandem traffic. The data should be collected at the end office on outgoing, originating traffic by providing the ability to augment the normal billing data stream. This data is extracted from the billing stream and serves as input for appropriate trunk forecasting analyses. This GR provides the view of Telcordia on generic functional requirements to provide PTP usage data from switching systems performing an end-office function for use by downstream systems.
