ORDERING INFORMATION
ABSTRACT: GR-747 replaces TR-NWT-000747, Issue 1, and its Revision 1, but contains NO TECHNICAL CHANGES from that original document. It has been
issued strictly to conform with the new Telcordia Technologies document format and GR process, and carries a new issue number and date.
For your convenience, Revision 1 has been interfiled into the main CORE document.
This Generic Requirements document (GR) describes an alternative implementation of an interface between a Stored Program Control
Switching System (SPCS) and a Network Traffic Management (NTM) Operations System (OS) via a Network Data Collection (NDC) OS. As a
result of the deployment of numerous switching systems, an NTM OS may support a variety of interfaces. This document details an
implementation that varies in the byte ordering for messages containing two-byte words from that documented in GR-746, SPCS/OS NTM
OS Interface via an NDCOS. Via this interface, an NTM OS is able to collect 30-second discrete and 5-minute data from an SPCS. An
NTM OS also provides the means for applying appropriate network management controls and auditing an SPCS to ensure that there is
database agreement between the two systems.
Revision 1 incorporated information on NTM data packets for Advanced Intelligent Network (AIN) 0.1 Switching Systems and AIN 0.2
Switching Systems NTM measurement requirements into the SPCS to NTM OS interface. In addition, references have been added indicating
that both 3- and 4-digit Carrier Identification Codes (CICs) for Feature Group D will be used for an interim period.
