This document describes the view of Telcordia on generic requirements for network elements and related remote test equipment that provide access and testing of Special Services (SS) and SS-like networks. Specific functions are defined for a Test System Controller/Remote Test Unit (TSC/RTU) and test access units for testing Digital Data System (DDS) and DDS-line circuits; High Capacity Digital Services (HCDS's); and specific functions for testing nonswitched and non-locally-switched services in Digital Loop Carrier (DLC) systems.
