ABSTRACT: This document provides the Telcordia view of generic requirements for access and testing functions to be incorporated in the Test System Controller/Remote Test Unit (TSC/RTU) and Test Access Unit (TAU) to support switched services on a Digital Loop Carrier (DLC), switching network element switched circuit testing, and digital trunk testing. Trunk and Line Work Station (TLWS) requirements are also included. This document also discusses access and testing for the Public Packet Switched Network (PPSN) and POTS (Plain Old Telephone Service) loops.
