GR-840 replaces TR-NWT-000840, Issue 1, but contains NO TECHNICAL CHANGES from that original document. It has been issued strictly to conform with the new Telcordia Technologies document format and GR process, and carries a new issue number and date.

This GR provides the view of Telcordia on generic requirements for the support that suppliers are expected to provide with their Network Elements. The document addresses the following support elements: engineering and ordering, installation and removal, first application, technical support, spares, and repair and return. It serves as a guide to suppliers preparing support programs, as well as an aid to customers establishing their own support requirements. The GR also forms the basis for the Telcordia supplier support analyses.
