ABSTRACT: GR-947 replaces TR-TSY-000947. This document provides requirements for a -48 volt telecommunications switchmode rectifier rated from 15 amps to 250 amps that, in the view of Telcordia, meets the telecommunications power-systems needs of a typical service provider. The rectifiers may be used for indoor stationary mounting or confined locations (defined as areas with limited floor space or fixed enclosures).

The locations may or may not be attended and may have entrances that require a ladder. As such, these locations require small size and weight rectifiers that require low maintenance, high reliability, and thermal stability. The rectifiers may or may not be used with batteries.
