ORDERING INFORMATION
ABSTRACT: Issue 4 of GR-954, Common Channel Signaling (CCS) Network Interface Specification (CCSNIS) Supporting Line Information Database
(LIDB) Service, replaces Issue 3.
GR-954 provides additional information for interconnection of CCS networks with Interconnecting Networks (ICNs) to support LIDB
access. This document complements the material in GR-905, and GR-1432.
Issue 4 incorporates:
- Definition and format for the Billing Service Provider (BSP) field in LIDB. Due to exhaust of numeric Revenue Accounting
Offices (RAOs), the industry started using alphanumeric RAOs in the 2000s. As a result, the Alliance of Telecommunications Industry
Solutions (ATIS) Ordering and Billing Forum (OBF) agreed to the inclusion of the alphanumeric RAO in LIDB. In LIDB, the 3-position RAO
code is stored in the 4-position BSP field regardless of whether the RAO code is numeric or alphanumeric.
- Changes to the definition of the RAO parameter in the LIDB response.
GR-954 replaces TR-NWT-000954 and TA-NPL-000872.
Parts of TR-TSV-000905 were moved to GR-954 (SS7 Capabilities in Support of ABS, LIDB Access Protocol), GR-1428 (800 Call
Control), and GR-1432 (Application/Translation Group Descriptions that originally appeared as Appendix C).
When using GR-954, you may need to refer to GR-905, GR-246 and/or GR-1432. You may also want to refer to GR-1149,
GR-1158, GR-1177, GR-1188, GR-2936, and/or ITU-T E.164.
