    ORDERING INFORMATION

ABSTRACT: GR-972-CORE replaces TR-NWT-000972, Issue 1, September 1990, but contains NO TECHNICAL CHANGES from that original document. It has been issued strictly to conform with the Telcordia Technologies document format and GR process, and carries a new issue number and date.

This document contains the view of Telcordia on Signaling System No. 7 (SS7) generic requirements to support call forwarding service offered to non-Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN) users as an interoffice service. To extend Call Forwarding to circuit-switched interoffice calls, Common Channel Signaling (CCS) is used to transmit the necessary signaling information.

This GR describes the procedures for using the SS7 Integrated Services Digital Network User Part (ISDNUP) protocol on the CCS network to relay information between offices during the activation and forwarding phases of Call Forwarding.

When using GR-972, you may need to refer to GR-586, GR-317, and GR-394.
