ORDERING INFORMATION
ABSTRACT: Issue 4 of TR-19, Binary Editor Interface Specifications Network Data System (NDS) Traffic Information Distributor and Editor (TIDE),
replaces Issue 3 of TR-TAP-000019.
This document provides the Telcordia view of proposed generic requirements for the traffic data interface from a Data Collection
Operations System to the Network Data System (NDS). This issue does not change the generic requirements as defined in TR-TAP-000019,
but defines the areas that were left to interpretation.
The main purpose of Issue 4 of TR-19 is to support the Digital Switch and other "sectionalized" driven switches (e.g., 2 ESS, 3ESS,
etc.). To simplify, hereafter all "section" driven data will be referred to as Digital data. This document, however, does not contain
all the information that is required to generate the interface. Switch dependent data must be obtained for each switch type that is
supported. The information needed to support the Stored Program Control Switch (SPCS) (e.g., 1/1AESS and 2 ESS 2BE2 and earlier
generics) and the Electromechanical (EM) register data driven switches are included in Telcordia document TR-TSY-000019, Issue 1.
Issue 3 of this document added specifications for Public Packet Switched Network (PPSN), Service Control Point (SCP), and Signaling
Transfer Point (STP) Network Elements.
Issue 4 includes a description of the compression algorithm used to compress Group Identifiers, includes a methodology of
interpreting the two-year Julian date format to eliminate century ambiguity, and extends the usable range for double precision data.
TR-19 replaced TR-TAP-000019 and CB-138.
When using TR-19, you will not need to refer to any other requirements.
