ABSTRACT: This document replaces TA-TSY-000029.

The initial Intelligent Network Architecture, referred to as IN1, supports 800 Data Base Service, Alternate Billing Service (ABS), and Private Virtual Network (PVN) Service on service-specific vendor developments. The services are implemented as features of switching systems and network databases. The Service Control Point (SCP) node is collocated with one or more applications. The applications consist of application-specific software and data that can be accessed by other nodes on the signaling network, such as a switching system or an Operator Services System (OSS).

The node distributes all incoming messages to the appropriate application. In return, this application formulates the parameters of a response message, which the node formats and routes to the appropriate network entity. This Technical Reference (TR) is the view of Telcordia on a comprehensive source of requirements and objectives for a transaction processor-based system to provide a network interface to various database services. The requirements are intended to facilitate satisfactory operation in provision of services in a typical Local Exchange Carrier (LEC) or other service providers environment. The generic requirements describe the features and functions of a database/processor system by defining its interactions with data networks, signaling networks, and operations systems. Specific application to be provided at a particular node will be determined by market, economic, and technological consideration beyond the scope of this document.
