ORDERING INFORMATION
ABSTRACT: A Digital Cross-Connect System (DCS) is an intelligent (processor controlled) digital terminal that provides the basic ability to
access and rearrange DSO channels of digital bit streams (DS1 [1.544 Mbps], DS1C [3.152 Mbps]) through its switching network.
This Technical Reference (TR) provides the view of Telcordia on generic requirements regarding the basic functions and features
required in a DS1/DS0 (1/0) Digital Cross-Connect System (DCS). It also describes the features and functions that may be desirable for
some applications by Local Exchange Carriers (LECs).
