ABSTRACT: Digital Data Access services are nonswitched channels that provide the capability to transmit digital data between two End-User (EU) Points Of Termination (POTs) or an EU-POT and a Carrier-POT. End-User primary data rates of 2.4, 4.8, 9.6, 19.2, 56 and 64 kbit/s, plus associated secondary channel rates of 2.4, 4.8, 9.6, 19.2, and 56 kbit/s, can be accommodated.

This Technical Reference (TR) describes the view of Telcordia on Digital Data Special Access Service offered by the Local Exchange Carriers to Interexchange Carriers and end-users. It covers distinguishing service features, technical generic requirements, and compatible interfaces. The TR provides a quantitative and qualitative description of the services and describes the interfaces at the EU-POT and at the Carrier-POT to help ensure that compatible operation will be achieved.
