An Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN) Display interacts with call control and other services to allow suitably equipped Customer Premises Equipment (CPE) to provide visual information to a human user.

This Technical Reference (TR) presents the view of Telcordia on generic switching and signaling requirements for the use of a switch-controlled display in an ISDN environment. The document details the generic requirements including the display text to be sent in different situations.

The display text in this document serves as default text. The switch shall allow the display information to be customized by the service provider.

Revision 1 clarifies the TR to help network equipment suppliers develop capabilities to achieve compatible ISDN.
