ABSTRACT: This Technical Reference (TR) provides the view of Telcordia on generic requirements for a Multiswitch Business Group (MBG) structure.

The MBG structure provides for the creation of MBGs that extend the conventional Basic Business Group (BBG) and the Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN) Basic Business Group (BBG-I) to multiple switches. An MBG can include the same categories of entities that are eligible to be included in a BBG-I: directory-number/call-type pairs served by ISDN interfaces (basic rate and primary rate), conventional lines, virtual private facilities supported by Signaling System No. 7 (SS7), and conventional private facilities. The feature requirements section of this document covers feature options, internal call-processing controls, signaling/message structure, administration/operations, and interactions.
