ORDERING INFORMATION
ABSTRACT: This document replaces TA-TSY-000231.
Local Exchange Carriers (LECs) have been deploying a large number of automated loop testing systems, particularly in large and
medium-sized wire centers. These systems are normally integrated with large database systems for processing of trouble information and
testing of trouble conditions.
The LECs would like to install computerized loop testing systems for testing small clusters of lines where the economics have not,
so far, justified the implementation of larger automated test systems. Also, there is a need to encourage additional suppliers of test
systems to integrate their systems with the Loop Maintenance Operations System (LMOS) and/or other operations systems supporting
network maintenance.
This Technical Reference (TR) is published as a guide to all existing and potential suppliers of computerized loop testing systems.
It provides the view of Telcordia on generic requirements that will allow suppliers to design and/or modify their loop test systems to
meet the needs of the LECs. The document is useful to suppliers who desire to make their standalone system functions and displays more
consistent with currently deployed systems, or who desire to integrate their systems into LMOS or other operations systems.
