ORDERING INFORMATION
ABSTRACT: Pressure transducer housings are components of the air core cable pressurization system, which supplies and monitors the air pressure
in underground cables. The pressure transducers that connect to the housings are used in the system to sense the air pressure in
individual cables and convert this pressure to an electrical resistance. This resistance is remotely monitored through the use of
cable pairs in adjacent cables.
This Technical Reference (TR) outlines the Telcordia view of generic requirements for pressure transducer housings that are used in
the air core cable pressurization network and provide for the physical mounting and electrical connection of the pressure transducers.
The document includes the electrical and mechanical requirements, the desired features and characteristics of pressure transducer
housing design, and the test methods for comparing the products against stated requirements.
