This Technical Reference (TR) presents the view of Telcordia on generic requirements for a transponder that is used with an automated Digital Terminal System or Digital Loop Carrier System to facilitate measurement provisioning of channel units. The transponder provides tones and/or terminations toward the network in response to commands from the terminal system.
