ABSTRACT: This Technical Reference (TR) presents the view of Telcordia on generic requirements for a User System Interface (USI) and is divided into two modules: User System Access, and User System Language (USL). The User System Access requirements support the operations of the Network Element (NE) via an Input/Output (I/O) device directly connected to the NE.

Detailed descriptions of the USI language, and syntax and dialogue procedures required for hard-copy devices and Visual Display Terminals (VDTs) are also included. USL requirements are provided in TR-TSY-000825, OTGR Section 10.A: User System Interface, User System Language (USL).
